The neck and face area, because of the thin skin in this area, is usually the first and most prominent place on the body that your skin really begins to show its age. Father Time, outside elements such as the sun’s damaging rays, and our diet all contribute to the diminishing health of your skin over the years.
Treating a Wrinkled Neck
That doesn’t mean that there aren’t ways to treat this skin issue. The first way is the theme of this website you are reading, and that is neck creams. We believe that this is the easiest and most efficient way for treating this skin issue.
There are a wide assortment of neck creams that you can buy, ranging in lower price neck creams you can find at the drugstore from familiar brands, to more expensive ones that you will find at high-end department stores or online only.
When it comes to the best value and most effective neck cream, we’re big fans of the SkinPro Neck Firming Cream which we review here. It is packed with active ingredients known for their anti-aging properties and is very strong in returning a more youthful look to your skin.
Outside of topical treatments, there are other ways that you can help reduce the depth of wrinkles and eliminate them once and for all. For at-home treatments, if you are a “do it yourself” kind of person, there are exercises to get rid of neck wrinkles. Part of the cause of lines and loose skin in this area is due to the weakening of the underlying muscles in this area. These muscles erode as we get older, leading to less support to the skin at the surface. Through different, isolated movements, you can strengthen the neck muscles which will help make the skin more taut in this area and decrease the appearance of wrinkles.
Another way to do it at home is with home remedies. We cover this topic in a couple pages on our site here and here. By using simple ingredients that you have at home, you can make a drastic difference in the wrinkles on your skin. Some remedies include cucumbers, applying a face mask made out of pineapple, masks made out of milk powder, drinking green tea and other methods.
There are more advanced and invasive procedures to get rid of wrinkles if you really want to go full bore on this issue. The most well-known method is botox for wrinkle fighting. This entails injections into the skin that have an effect of stimulating the underlying muscles. This procedure works best for shallow wrinkles. The results are temporary, however, and the procedure can be quite expensive.
Lastly, the most advanced (and most expensive) kind of treatment is with laser therapy. There are a couple kinds of laser treatments for neck wrinkles. The first is called ultherapy (short for “ultrasound therapy”) whereby ultrasound vibrations are sent deep into the skin’s layers and promotes fresh cell growth at the skin’s inner layers. This then works its way outside to restore healthy skin throughout all its layers. The other is fractional CO2 therapy, whereby an abrasive laser vaporizes the top layer of skin.
